DAY 3: CRIKEY MATE, THATS A BEAUTY!
With the nights celebration behind us, we renewed our focus for... FUN! None of us have actually been to Miri before so Leo took us all out sightseeing. Note that Wifey, a.k.a. PPJ was not with us because she + her entire family decided to check out Brunei (which is about 3 hours away by car).
By the way, did you know that Miri is full of 4WDs? In KL we take our driving license in a Kancil. In Miri you do it with a Pajero. Of course, I cannot confirm my random babbling. Our flight was at 2215 hours, and check out was by 1300 hours, giving us about 9 hours to do stuff. Hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to work we go...
First stop, breakkie at some Kopitiam with some popular local favs - like curry rice (which is actually rice with curry chicken, no surprise there) and; kuey chap (which is something like pokari, but with kuey tiau and condiments and not spicy). I was fixated with my caffeine.
Immediately after that, we checked out one of Miri's prime make-out points (Make-Out Point #1). Unfortunately with many many guys. Apparently, Make-Out Point #1 is a man-made river mouth, with reclaimed land and stuff. I noticed the amount of rubbish on the floor was ridiculous. Oh, and Leo told us that the river next to us was the countries 3rd dirtiest. Besides that, it was quite pretty.
After that we went to the Miri Crocodile Farm! It was amazing! Like a little kid (more like a little kid with a 70-200 f/2.8), they let me loose. I'll let the photos speak for themselves. By the way, the farm kept horses, snakes, monkeys and plants too - just like an adorable little zoo!
After the Croc Farm we went ogling at the houses, a.k.a. fortresses of the Miri elite to make us feel crappy about ourselves. After that, off to a bootiful beach (Make-Out Point #2) nearby! Still with many guys. Shit. Insanity ensued and I have pictures to prove it.
It was getting late. So afterwards, off to Leo's house again for shower and quick change, dinner by the sea, and airport immediately. OK, I'm kinda tired now. Not forgetting in a couple of days time, it will be the Malaysian Salsa Festival 2010 in Kay Elle....
