Happily Ever After: Calvin & Malini [6-10-2012]

I've said before, shooting a friend's big day has a far different emotional impact than your regular run-of-the-mill photoshoot. That being said, one of my closest friends is getting hitched! Can ya believe it? I think one other person from the old days gone has gotten hitched since but I didn't know about it until Facebook revealed all.

Calvin Jerome Symons. The name itself conjures up images of madness. Consisting of 1 part Dutch, 2 parts Chinese and 8 parts unbridled madness, Fatty (the only real name I'm accustomed to call him) is finally taking the plunge. Knowing him, this was thought out thoroughly. When he was looking at houses not long ago, I sensed something was amiss. When he proposed, I was unaware but Malini (the Blushing Bride) called me immediately, asking me, "Do you know what your best friend just did?" Crazy. Right bloody crazy. But amazing nevertheless.

Even more amazing, he wants me to be a part of it, hence the following pictures. After some initial unavoidable complications (which serve to further strengthen their resolve) a date was set with Destiny (who coincidentally goes by the name of Hasnah or something) at the National Registration Department of Malaysia ('Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara'). After that was done, we tried to take advantage of their robust mood to shoot a few photos of the newly-weds!

  4. Dom,
You did a great job in this wedding. You have captured the emotions and the wedding couple and guests very well. The photos are well exposed and the candid moments are great. (Just a tiny comment, do crop out the "partial faces" in group shots).
Congrats on a job well done.
    Phil.
