"You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life..."
It's that time of the month again. Time for the most sought after event of the month. Since I began prancing around to a variety of Cuban/Afro-Carribean/Latin music some months ago, I noticed 2 apparent things:-
(1) I picked the right dance studio to learn from (purely by chance I might add); and
(2) No one makes studio parties like Sam and Aisha.
The secret? Not really a secret but nevertheless a vital element of the mix: A culture of social dancing. Say what you want, but Sam and Aisha's got more regular dancers on the dance floors in KL, Mondays-Fridays, all year around, than most. No disrespect to anyone but the Dynamic Duo have made salsa dance available to students of all shapes and sizes, and the students are giving back - on the dance floor. Witnessing the constantly growing numbers of dancers are evident of this.
Arguably one of the most important efforts to encourage this culture - is the monthly salsa social at the (New) Taman Tun Studio, officially the Havana Estudio Salsa Divison, located right above Devi's Corner (at the same corner of TTDI with the Vads Tower, Pizza Hut, former Jaya Jusco, etc.).
